3 Outfits I’m ACTUALLY Wearing
I love a good styled outfit board, but the reality is that most days I’m getting dressed while pouring cereal, packing lunches, and reminding someone to put shoes on. I still care about what I wear, but it has to work for real life — car seats, errands, work calls, the whole thing.
These are the outfits I actually reach for during the week. They’re comfortable, neutral, and easy to build around, but still make me feel like I didn’t give up on having personal style just because I had kids.
1. The “School Drop-Off to Coffee Run” Uniform
Black blazer, fitted turtleneck, straight-leg denim, riding boots, and a simple shoulder bag.
This is my default outfit when I want to look put together without trying. The blazer does all the work, the boots make it feel intentional, and everything in it is comfortable enough to wear all day. I can go from school drop-off to a meeting without changing.
2. The “Comfort but Not Sweats” Outfit
Oversized navy sweater, vintage wash jeans, black bag, and red retro sneakers.
I wear this when I want something cozy but not sloppy. The pop of red makes it feel like a real outfit even though it requires zero effort. Easy to move in, kid-proof, and still something I’d wear even if I didn’t have somewhere practical to be.
3. The “I Have Work and Errands and No Time to Change” Look
Leather jacket, chambray button-down, stirrup leggings, slingback heels or sneakers depending on the day.
This is my upgraded leggings outfit. The stirrups make them feel more styled and the jacket keeps it polished. Works for a Zoom meeting, grocery store run, and dinner out if I’m lucky enough to be out past 6 p.m.
Why These Work for Me
-I don’t have time to overthink outfits
-Everything mixes and matches
- I can change the shoes and the whole look shifts
-They feel like my style, not just “mom clothes”
-They’re made up of pieces I’ll wear over and over, not just once
If you want sizing details or links, everything is saved on my LTK.
If you’re also in the phase of wanting to look like you tried but not spend more than five minutes getting dressed, you’re in the right place.
