Baby Products I Actually Used (And Would Buy Again)
There are so many baby products out there that it is hard to know what you actually need and what will end up sitting in a closet. After two babies, these are the things I genuinely used all the time. Nothing extra, nothing “for the aesthetic,” just the items that were actually helpful in real life.
BabyBjörn Bouncer
If I had to choose one baby product to buy again, it would be this. It is lightweight, folds flat, and you can move it room to room without thinking. My babies loved it because they could bounce themselves, and I loved that it was easy to clean and did not take up a ton of space. This is also a lifesaver for when you need a handsfree moment or if you simply need to take a shower.
Boppy Nursing Pillow
Even if you do not nurse, this pillow is worth having. I used it for feeding, bottle holding, propping the baby up, and as a support pillow when I was exhausted. It is one of those things you do not realize you need until it is always in use. It is also great for when they are learning how to sit up on their own- definitely a must have.
Love to Dream Swaddle
Both of my boys slept best in this. The arms-up style made a huge difference, and it was so much easier than trying to Velcro or wrap anything at 2 a.m. I would buy this again for every time.
Two-Way Zipper Pajamas (especially bamboo)
If you are still buying baby pajamas with snaps, you are working too hard. The two-way zipper is life changing during middle of the night changes. Bamboo fabric is extra soft and stretches as they grow, which makes the price worth it.
Teething Toys
Nothing specific here because every baby has a favorite, but having a few options ready is key. Anything they can chew, hold, or freeze is helpful. I kept one in every room and in the diaper bag.
Jumparoo / Baby Activity Bouncer
This is not a newborn item, but once they can support their head, the jumper is a lifesaver. It keeps them happy and entertained long enough for you to actually eat, clean, or breathe for a second.
Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Seat
Both of my kids used this before they could sit independently. It is great for feeding before high chair stage, or just letting them observe the world upright. It stores easily and is easy to wipe down.
Final Thoughts
You truly do not need as much baby gear as the internet makes you think. The items I used most were the ones that made daily life easier, not the trendy things.
If you are building a registry or prepping for a new baby, start with the basics that give you hands-free time, easy sleep, and less laundry.
