A Quick Moodboard: Home Decor

I’m so excited to share that we’re building our forever home (at least that’s what we’re saying now — who knows what life will throw our way in the future). It’s expected to be finished at the end of April, and I already know this space is going to bring me so much joy.

Our current home was the first house we ever bought, and it’s been such a special place. Having your own space is truly one of the best feelings. We brought both of our babies home here, so it’s going to be bittersweet to leave behind all the memories we’ve made… but that’s not to say there aren’t a few things I won’t miss — looking at you, millennial gray walls.

I can’t wait to finally have a bright, neutral home that lets me really explore my style — one that feels warm and cozy without having to decorate around a sea of gray everything.

Here’s a quick list of items on my wishlist — pieces you won’t get tired of or find yourself listing on Facebook Marketplace a year from now.

Home decor moodboard featuring neutral and earthy tones — amber glass candle holder, striped and velvet pillows, sculptural lamp, abstract artwork, and marble bowl styled together.

This moodboard feels like me — soft neutrals, grounding woods, layered glass, and a touch of contrast. It’s that cozy, collected look that never goes out of style.

Warm Neutrals & Timeless Texture

I’m drawn to pieces that feel inviting without being overly “decorated.” Think velvet pillows in warm cocoa tones, striped textures that add depth, and sculptural accents that make a quiet statement. These are the pieces that make a house feel layered and lived in & cozy.

The marble pedestal bowl is one of those things that feels special in any room. It’s perfect on a coffee table with a few gold bangles draped inside or styled on a console with a small stack of books.

Earthy Glass & Ambient Glow

One thing I’ve learned about creating warmth in a home: lighting is everything. I love the idea of mixing glass lamps and candles — the way it softens the space and makes everything feel more intentional.
The amber and olive vases add that hit of color without being loud, and the smoked glass candle holder feels moody in the best way.

I want our new home to glow- literally… especially at night when the lights are dim and the house feels calm.

The Vision

This home will be bright, cozy, and calm — a reflection of where we are now as a family. Less trend-chasing, more intention. Less “what’s in,” more “what feels like us.”

I want every piece in this space to tell a story, to feel collected over time- because that’s the magic of creating a home you actually want to be in.
